When teaching nonfiction units, it's important to introduce text features as elements of informational texts. 

This Text Organizers handout allows students to decide which text organizers are appropriate to use on a given text.

This is good practice for students to recognize and apply names of text organizers, their purpose, and various ways they can be used.
