As middle school teachers, we spend the majority of our planning time scouring for ideas to engage and interest older learners. We are always looking for valuable resources that can easily be turned into lessons our students enjoy. Most of the ideas found in center books and online target elementary students and lower-level readers; so, we began toying with various ideas that adapt stations to older students.
All of the stations you see on our blog are tried and true, though many have been created and recreated through trial and error. The term "station" is not used here in a manner limited to a certain activity or work center; our stations range from writing activities set up with props, to interactive games or online computer activities.
Please feel free to browse and borrow our stations. We will be uploading all of our station instructions and handouts in PDF form for free download. Our blog is new and under construction, so stop back soon to check out new additions.
